| Financial Systems Workshop - November 2006 |
Many expansion stage companies in our portfolio inevitably face the daunting task of upgrading from legacy small business financial systems - typically QuickBooks - to systems that can better handle the demands of a growing, more complex, business. This workshop brought together a handful of portfolio company CFOs that have or are in the process of making the transition.
Objectives
- Provide the forum for company CFOs to exchange insights and best practices for the migration.
- Exchange learnings from the evaluation and selection of various third party solutions.
- Connect CFOs with their counterparts that may be helpful during migrations.
Preparation Questions
- What current systems does your organization use (sales automation, booking engines, financial systems, etc)?
- Which financial systems are you investigating as potential alternatives?
- What systems would you like to discuss with the group and/or get a better understanding of?
Agenda
1. Five minute introduction to each company's financial issues
2. In-depth discussion of 3-4 financial systems
3. Migration implementation lessons learned plus tips and tricks
