Steve is the Chief Technology Officer at OpenView, responsible for supporting portfolio companies in all aspects of their software design, development, validation and support activities. Steve brings over 25 years of designing and delivering Enterprise class software experiences. Steve currently also serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Insight Venture Partners. Prior to Insight, Steve was the CTO/VP of Engineering at InterWorld and American Software responsible for all R&D, product architectures and IT. Before that, Steve was the Director of Field Systems at Pfizer and CIO of Pfizer International from 1978 to 1986. In 1987, Steve founded Optimized Planning Systems, a supply chain vendor that was acquired by American Software in 1991 and continued with American Software as the CIO. He has consulted with many large independent software vendors and technology companies (e.g. IBM, Computer Associates, HP, Sun) in the areas of system architecture, R&D best practices, organizational growth and process automation. Steve is also a frequent speaker and a writer on a variety of technology and business adoption topics. His articles have appeared in a variety of publications such as Computer World, Application Development Trends, Software Testing and Performance and eBusiness.

Steve has a B.S. in Mathematics from Colgate University and a Masters in Operations Research from NYU with high honors.
